Larson introduces two newly reconfigured models for 2018: the LX 160 OB and the LX 185 OB. These family-friendly bowriders feature all-new decks, a host of amenities, and designs that maximize onboard comfort, space and seating for fun-filled days on the water.
“The 160 OB and 185 OB represent Larson’s core values,” said Rob Parmentier, president of Larson Boats. “We’ve applied strategic engineering decisions and design changes to ensure that these models deliver only the things families want and need, and nothing they don’t.”
The new LX 160 OB and LX 185 OB—with a 7-foot, 2-inch beam and 7-foot, 10-inch beam, respectively—provide ample storage capacity for everything an active family brings onboard. Aft bench seating and bow seating contain easily accessible under-seat storage for stowing lifejackets, towels and assorted gear. Portside bench seating has covered storage below and a removable cushion that creates walk-through space for improved onboard maneuverability. The 185 OB boasts 18 feet, 5 inches of onboard space that accommodates U-shaped bench seating in the cockpit with storage below, and an optional bow filler cushion transforms the bow into a large sunpad. (The 160 OB measures at 16 feet, 2 inches.) The captain and passenger bucket seats on both models come with standard flip-up bolsters for enhanced driving flexibility and visibility.
Boaters can ramp up the fun with the standard Rockford-Fosgate® audio system and USB charging and audio integration port. An optional tow sports pole is available for water-skiing and tubing enthusiasts, while a 60-hp Mercury® FourStroke engine (standard on the 160 OB) and a 115-hp Mercury® FourStroke engine (standard on the 185 OB) provide reliable, efficient power to fuel all the action.
And no matter which on-water activities a boating family pursues, they can rely on design elements including a full wrap-around windshield and deep cockpit floor to provide security and peace of mind. The 160 OB’s new cockpit design is 2.5 inches lower than the previous model, increasing the freeboard height for added safety. The bow increased 5” as well in this new version of the 160 by decreasing the size of the splash well (motorwell) compartment.
The LX 160 OB and LX 185 OB also make long-distance getaways a breeze. A standard painted Shoreland’r trailer allows boaters to explore waterways near and far without hassle, and an optional bimini top offers welcome shade and protection from midday rays.
“The 160 OB and 185 OB will get families out on the water with complete confidence and ease so they can enjoy doing what they love most,” Parmentier said. “Larson has always taken pride in helping families build lifelong memories, and these boats carry that tradition into the future.”
